Cimarron invests across the venture capital asset class from early stage and seed funds through late stage, mezzanine and lower middle market buyout funds. Our investment approach is focused on selecting top-performing funds and developing investment strategies that meet our clients’ full range of financial and strategic objectives.
Deal Sourcing
We see nearly every venture capital fund coming into the U.S. and Latin American markets. We evaluate more than 100 funds annually; invest in a handful, and track teams to get an early look at their subsequent funds.
Manager Selection
Cimarron has a highly disciplined due diligence and fund manager selection process. We scrutinize the impact of each investment team member on deal flow, exits, and the performance of portfolio companies. Through our
due diligence process, we work to determine whether investment teams have a history of working well together and if selected team members complement the strengths and offset the weaknesses of their colleagues.
Investment Management
Cimarron actively monitors the progress of each investee fund. In most cases we sit on the Limited Partner Advisory Committee to ensure that we are informed about fund valuations, potential conflicts and activities and to gain insight on our General Partners.
